Act and Rules

The great importance of taking up plant protection measures effectively on a large scale for protection  of valuable crops and plantation crops in the fields and agricultural productions during storage was increasingly felt. Considering the  vital importance (1) to prevent the introduction, spread or re-appearance of plant diseases,pests, parasites and noxious weeds, ‘The Manipur Plant Diseases and Pests Act,1966’ (No. 6 of 1966); and (2) to regulate the import, manufacture, sale, transport, distribution and use of insecticides (including fungicides, weedicites etc.), ‘The insecticides Act, 1968’ (No.46 of 1968)were enacted by the Indian Parliament.
